General Mills Oppurtunity

After moving to Minneapolis I quickly realized that there were a wealth of opportunities in the Twin Cities. I was a little scared at first, especially since the economy isn't doing the greatest. Before even checking the oppurtunities in the area, I narrowed my options down to 3 companies I would like to work for: General Mills, Target, or Best Buy. I didn't know if any of them had openings, but I knew they were all good companies to work for. I started my search here...
After interviewing with 3 companies, (eLoyalty, Boston Scientific, and General Mills) I decided to pursue General Mills. Well, after a lengthy interview process and getting to see the whole campus, I was offered the position and I accepted it. I accepted it for many reasons, but I think one of the biggest reason were the quality of people I met there. Almost everyone that I had met had been there 10+ years, loved General Mills, was offered many opportunities internally, and they all said that General Mills is very flexible and provided a great work life balance. Also General Mills was rated the #1 Best place to Work in IT, according to Computerworld. After hearing all of the wonderful things, seeing how well they were doing even in the economic downturn, and seeing how many awesome brands they owned (Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Hamburger Helper, Wheaties, etc...), I knew I made the right decision.
