Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference

Today Microsoft is holding the Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in New Orleans.  This conference is a platform to deliver the latest Microsoft strategies, products, and road map for their products.   Here they plan to connect with their biggest partners to showcase some of the things are are just over the horizon.

It is being closely watched for many new products and features including: Office 2010, Windows 7, the new SharePoint, and Windows Server 2008 R2.  This is a gigantic event with lots of huge titles and features to be excited about.

You can watch a live stream of the event live at http://www.digitalwpc.com/ although the servers have been pretty bogged down all day.  This, in a way, is a good thing.  It means that many people are watching this conference for all of the good things to come from Microsoft.  One of the biggest things (I feel) is for the announcement of the next operating system, Windows 7 RTM.  The RTM is the "Golden Build" of Widows 7 and is what is released to all of the OEM manufactures to prepare the new PCs with the latest operating system for the launch date of October 22nd.  I am watching closely to see if anything is announced.  Let's keep our fingers crossed.
