Windows 7 has finally been RTM'ed! (Release To Manufacturing)  It has passed all of the validations tests and has been voted as ready for release!  This means that the final build of Windows 7 is finally ready to be shipped to their OEM partners, burned on DVD media, packaged, and released on MSDN and Technet.

Steve Sinofsky, the president of the Windows division, announced it today at a pre-sales kick off in Seattle with Steve Balmer.  Steve Blamer signed the "Golden Build" saying Windows 7 was ready to go.  This is a huge moment for Microsoft, Windows, and the world.  The build is credited to over 5,000 engineers, 10 million customer experience sessions, over 100,000 automated tests, and millions of beta testers.  With this level of support and testing, it is bound to be one of the best operating systems in history.  Windows 7 will be available to the general public on October 22nd, 2009.  The final build number is 7600.16385.  You can also ready more at The Windows Team Blog.
