Today, Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 both have been released to manufacturing. The software has been finished and will be distributed to their OEM partners. What does that mean for the average consumer? Not much really… except that Windows 8 PCs and tablets will be available on October 26th. Even Microsoft’s new Surface Tablet they showed off at the Microsoft’s Surface Event will be wrapped up and ready to buy. Windows 8 will be the platform for Microsoft’s Marketplace, an app store which will feature media, games, apps and content. What will be the tool of choice when building the applications for the next generation platform? Visual Studio 2012 of course.
